I'm interested in getting into Investment Banking and find it hard to keep up to date with all the M&A activity. Is there somewhere to keep track of the progress of deals as well as analysis?

The best website I have found is the AFR's Dealbook with stories categorized by Investment Banking areas including ECM, DCM, Private Equity and M&A stories as well as free detailed IB league tables from DealLogic. Definately something to bookmark.

Business Spectator's Wheels and Deals (RSS Feed) Section has Breakfast Deals which is a good daily read summarizing deals of the day, as well as Deals TV which is a midday video podcast by Madeline Heffernan for easy listening.

TIP: Subscribe to the above RSS feeds using something like Google Reader to have one place to check all your updates. For Dealbook you will need to pay for access to feeds I think.

AFR is a necessity for market knowledge. Can be accessed through Factiva, from UNSW library resources.

Factiva @ UNSW Library (You will need a UNSW UniPass to login - if link doesn't work goto UNSW Library and search)

Thanks Mencius, I had no idea about this! I've added a link directly to Factiva in your post. However, the AFR on Factiva only contains abstracts of articles. A great find nonetheless.

The Australian Financial Review also has good stuff as well. obviously you would need to either buy it or read it at the local library.
